Light coming into the eye passes through the clear cornea, lens, and vitreous gel before reaching the retina. All of the physiological reactions allowing us to see begin at that point. Diseases of the retina include many disorders affecting the body as a whole, and others are limited only to the eye. Some of the more common disorders include:

Diabetic Retinopathy
Retinal Tears
Age-related Macular Degeneration
Retinal Detachment
Posterior Vitreous Detachment
Retinal Vascular Occlusions
Vitreous Hemorrhage
Macular Holes
Retinitis Pigmentosa
